With funding from the BC government's 'Last Mile' initiative, Base Technology provides remote Internet access for the town of Skatin.
The Skatin wireless network that was completed this week delivers broadband Internet for the remote community of Skatin in British Columbia using a mesh network designed by Base Technology, and a C-Band Satellite from InfoSat.
This installation demonstrates the turnkey mesh networking solution developed by Base Technology, and showcases both the hardware and software designed for ease of installation and remote administration.
Base Technology is pleased to work with First Nations communities to improve communications infrastructure and remote access through the use of wireless networking technology.
A C-Band Satellite dish provided by the BC government serves the local school and the Skatin Wireless Network, a 2.4Ghz mesh network connects the school with the community several kilometers away.
