France Television is broadcasting from the Fairmont Chateau Whistler during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games using a 10Mbs dedicated service from Base Technology. Over the last three months the Base wireless network has been extended to serve other resorts and hotels in the Whistler area including the Delta Whistler Village Suites, the Tantalus Resort Lodge, the Marriott and numerous residential strata properties.

The network in Whistler has been streaming live video during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games serving visitors and guests who want to watch the games from their laptops and mobile phones, but do not want to pay massive roaming data charges while traveling.

For the last two weeks the Base Wireless network has been streaming at an average 23Mbs delivering 10G/hr of Internet traffic to customers within the resort with top speeds of 162.3Mbs and aggregate total throughput of 3TB since Feb 4 2010.
